The beloved stage adaptation of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time will return to theatres across the UK in 2027, marking its first major tour in several years. Based on Mark Haddon’s award winning novel, the story follows fifteen year old Christopher Boone as he sets out to solve the mystery of a neighbour’s dog. Agatha Christie’s iconic thriller, The Mousetrap, welcomes a new era under the direction of award-winning Ola Ince. The world’s longest-running play continues to thrill audiences at St Martin’s Theatre in London with a brand-new cast, beginning Monday 10 November 2025.
Ince, acclaimed for her work in theatre, film, and opera, joins the production ready to bring fresh energy to the legendary mystery. She said:

Musical theatre fans across the UK are in for a treat as West End powerhouses Kerry Ellis, Louise Dearman, and Rachel Tucker announce the Gravity tour. After a sold-out, special performance earlier this year at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane, the trio is taking their celebrated show on the road, bringing the magic of London theatre to five major cities.
Gravity celebrates the unparalleled talent of three of musical theatre’s most beloved stars. Ellis, the first British Elphaba in Wicked, Dearman, the only performer to play both Elphaba and Glinda in Wicked, and Tucker, who has played Elphaba in both London and Broadway productions, are joined by a repertoire of hit songs spanning iconic shows such as We Will Rock You, Cats, Oliver!, My Fair Lady, Miss Saigon, Les Misérables, Guys and Dolls, Evita, Grease, Joseph, Sunset Boulevard, and Chicago.
Fans can expect powerhouse performances and special nods to each artist’s career highlights. Kerry Ellis will feature songs from her collaboration with Queen guitarist Brian May, Rachel Tucker will revisit highlights from her time on I’d Do Anything, and Louise Dearman will bring back her unforgettable Eva Perón numbers.

Produced by Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals, this limited 11-week season runs from 20 June to 5 September 2026, with a press night on 7 July 2026. Exclusive presale opens 25 November 2025, with general tickets on sale the following day.

Sam Ryder’s West End Debut
The BRIT and Emmy-nominated singer-songwriter Sam Ryder, known for his viral success and Eurovision hit 'Space Man', is taking on the role of Jesus in his highly anticipated West End debut.

First released as a concept album in 1970, Jesus Christ Superstar opened on Broadway the following year, earning five Tony nominations and redefining musical theatre with its rock-driven score. Songs like 'I Don’t Know How to Love Him', 'Gethsemane' and 'Superstar' remain some of the most iconic numbers in stage history.
The Palladium production will bring together world-class talent, including musical supervisor Tom Deering, lighting designer Lee Curran, sound designer Adam Fisher, fight director Kate Waters, and casting director David Grindrod CDG.

A New Adventures Classic Returns to the Stage
New Adventures has announced the return of Matthew Bourne’s The Car Man, one of the most iconic dance thrillers in British theatre. The multi-award-winning production will embark on an exciting UK tour in 2026, opening at Curve, Leicester on 15 June 2026, before visiting 16 venues nationwide, including a five-week summer run at Sadler’s Wells in London.
Loosely inspired by Bizet’s opera Carmen, The Car Man transforms the classic 19th-century story into a gripping 1950s American garage-diner setting, where passions, jealousy, and betrayal collide. Set in the fictional town of Harmony, USA, this sultry and cinematic reimagining is filled with energy, tension, and unforgettable dance sequences.
The production features a powerful score by Terry Davies and Rodion Shchedrin’s Carmen Suite, after Bizet’s original music. The creative team includes lighting design by Chris Davey, sound by Paul Groothuis, and set design by Lez Brotherston, bringing Bourne’s signature storytelling to life.
A Dance Thriller That Redefined British Theatre

First performed in 2000, The Car Man won the Evening Standard Award for Musical Event of the Year and the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for Best Choreography. It was most recently revived in 2022 at the Royal Albert Hall for the venue’s 150th anniversary, earning rave reviews and nightly standing ovations.
This will be the first full UK tour of The Car Man since 2015, marking a major moment for fans of Matthew Bourne, New Adventures, and contemporary dance theatre.

Jetske Mijnssen Brings Fresh Insight to Handel’s Ariodante at Covent Garden
Dutch director Jetske Mijnssen will make her Royal Opera debut with a stunning new production of Handel’s Ariodante, as part of the Handel in Covent Garden series. The work premiered at the Royal Opera House in 1735 and returns for the first time in nearly three centuries.
Starring Emily D’Angelo in the title role and Jacquelyn Stucker as Ginevra, this revival of Handel’s masterpiece features a world-class cast including Elena Villalón, Christophe Dumaux, Ed Lyon, Peter Kellner, and Emyr Lloyd Jones. The production will be conducted by Stefano Montanari with the Orchestra and Chorus of the Royal Opera House.
Mijnssen, who also made her UK and Glyndebourne debuts this year, is celebrated for her psychologically rich storytelling. She brings a deep emotional understanding to Ariodante, creating a production that is as human as it is musically exquisite.
Exploring Handel’s Human Drama

Set in the 1590s, Something Rotten! follows brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom as they try to write the world’s first musical. Struggling to compete with the unstoppable William Shakespeare, they seek help from a soothsayer whose prediction of “singing, acting and dancing all at once” inspires theatrical chaos.

West End Musical Theatre Stars Join Maury Yeston 80th Birthday Concert in London
To mark the 80th birthday of Tony Award-winning composer and lyricist Maury Yeston, producer Danielle Tarento will present a spectacular one-night-only concert in London celebrating his extraordinary musical theatre legacy. The evening will be directed by Thom Southerland and will feature some of Yeston’s most beloved works performed by a cast of leading West End and Broadway stars.
Tarento and Southerland have long been champions of Yeston’s music, having collaborated on several of his acclaimed musicals in the UK, including the London premieres of Titanic the Musical and Death Takes a Holiday, as well as a celebrated revival of Grand Hotel. These productions helped introduce Yeston’s emotionally rich scores to new audiences across London’s theatre scene, and now, this concert will showcase highlights from those shows alongside songs from Nine and Phantom, Yeston’s 1991 version of The Phantom of the Opera which has been performed in over 1,000 productions worldwide.
The concert will also include never-before-heard songs and a brand-new overture composed specially for this milestone event. Leading the cast is internationally renowned performer Ramin Karimloo, who has a long-standing connection with Yeston’s work. Karimloo recently starred as Barrett in Titanic the Musical at NYCityCenter’s Encores! and as Guido Contini in Nine in Concert for Hope Mill Theatre at The Lowry. Further star casting will be announced in due course.
The performance will feature the London Musical Theatre Orchestra (LMTO), conducted by Mark Aspinall, bringing Yeston’s lush orchestrations to life.
Producer Danielle Tarento said:
“My working relationship and friendship with Maury is one of the great joys of my life. His musicals resonate so deeply with me and have framed so much of the past 15 years of my career. To be able to celebrate his 80th birthday in such a significant way is a privilege and an honour.”
All profits from the concert will be donated to Bowel Cancer UK, supporting the charity’s essential work in research and awareness.
Maury Yeston is widely regarded as one of Broadway’s most accomplished composer-lyricists. His numerous accolades include Tony Awards for Titanic the Musical and Nine, as well as Drama Desk Awards and international recognition for Grand Hotel and Phantom. Beyond the stage, Yeston’s music has been heard in the Oscar-nominated film adaptation of Nine, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman and Dame Judi Dench. He also composed acclaimed concert works such as Goya – A Life in Song, December Songs, and An American Cantata – 2000 Voices, premiered by the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center.
This special London event promises to be a heartfelt tribute to one of musical theatre’s greatest living composers, honouring eight decades of creativity, storytelling, and unforgettable melodies.

Jo- The Little Women Musical in Concert to Premiere at Theatre Royal Drury Lane
A beloved literary classic is heading to the West End. Jo- The Little Women Musical in Concert will receive its world premiere at London’s historic Theatre Royal Drury Lane, promising a spellbinding evening that celebrates sisterhood, ambition, and the enduring power of storytelling.
Inspired by Louisa May Alcott’s timeless novel Little Women, this semi-staged concert brings Jo March and her family to life through an emotional and beautifully orchestrated new musical score. With music by Dan Redfeld and book and lyrics by Christina Harding and John Gabriel Koladziej, the production is directed and choreographed by JoAnn M. Hunter, whose extensive Broadway credits include Bad Cinderella and School of Rock.
The initial casting announcement has theatre fans buzzing. Grammy nominee Christine Allado (Hamilton) will star as Jo March, joined by two-time Tony Award winner Christine Ebersole (42nd Street) as Aunt March. West End favourite Kelly Mathieson (The Phantom of the Opera) joins as Meg, with Sophie Pollono, Eleanor Grant and Tobias Turley completing the March family ensemble.

Roam: New West End Musical to Premiere in Concert at Shaftesbury Theatre
A thrilling new musical is set to light up the West End. Roam will make its debut at London’s Shaftesbury Theatre in a special one-night-only concert performance. Directed by Rupert Hands (Evita, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) with choreography by Olivier Award winner James Cousins (Guys and Dolls), this ambitious production promises a night of emotion, power and musical innovation.
Featuring a genre-blending rock-pop-Romani score by Alexander Sage Oyen and a book by Michael Dovid, Roam tells the story of a nomadic family forced to confront the ghosts of their past when their caravan breaks down in hostile territory. Themes of love, family and legacy intertwine as the family wrestles with grief, identity and belonging.

Aqua The Musical: Barbie Girl Hitmakers Bring Their Story to the Stage in 2028
The iconic Danish pop group Aqua who are known worldwide for infectious hits like "Barbie Girl" and "Doctor Jones" are heading to the stage in spectacular fashion. A brand-new jukebox musical, Aqua The Musical, will make its world premiere at Copenhagen’s Royal Opera House in 2028, bringing the band’s colourful story and unforgettable pop anthems to life.
Produced by AHA Creations, the show has been officially approved by the band, who are actively involved in shaping its creative journey. The production company holds global rights to the musical for at least 25 years and aims to transfer it to international stages, including London’s West End, Broadway, and major cities like Hamburg and Toronto.
Martin Palme Skriver, Executive Director of AHA Creations says:
“Aqua is one of Denmark’s greatest musical success stories... Their vibrant sound and larger-than-life universe are made for the stage, this is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to launch a Danish musical on the global map.”

Review of Evita at the London Palladium: Rachel Zegler Soars in Jamie Lloyd's Bold, Electrifying Revival

Sometimes you sit in a theatre and know you are witnessing something truly historic. That’s exactly how it felt watching Jamie Lloyd’s new production of Evita at the London Palladium. This isn’t just another revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s political rock opera, it’s a seismic moment in musical theatre, led by a cast who feel destined for greatness.
At the centre of it all is Rachel Zegler, who delivers a performance so thrilling, it’s hard to believe this is her London stage debut. I’ve followed Rachel’s journey since 2017, from YouTube covers to West Side Story, and to see her now, utterly at home on the Palladium stage, is nothing short of awe-inspiring. She looks and sounds like she was born for this exact role at this exact moment in theatrical history. Her Eva Perón is fierce, vulnerable, ambitious, and magnetic; and every note of “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” soared as though it were written for her. We are watching the rise of a star, and how lucky we are to be along for the journey.
Alongside her, Diego Andrés Rodriguez is astonishing as Che. Wry, commanding, and vocally electric, he narrates Eva’s rise and fall with biting precision. At times sardonic, at times full of fire, his performance anchors the show with clarity and bite. Rodriguez is a talent I need to see as Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar one day, his presence and vocals would be unforgettable. James Olivas also gives an excellent turn as Juan Perón, balancing political ambition with quiet tenderness. The chemistry between Zegler, Rodriguez, and Olivas is magnetic, their trio of performances form the show’s beating heart.
Musically, Evita remains as bold as ever. First staged in 1978, Lloyd Webber and Rice’s rock-opera score brings Eva Perón’s rise to power and enduring legacy to life with urgency and flair. From the bombastic “A New Argentina” to the delicate “Another Suitcase in Another Hall,” the music is at once energetic and informative, serving as both history lesson and thrilling theatre. What makes Jamie Lloyd’s revival so fascinating is its refusal to spoon-feed. The production embraces ambiguity, encouraging the audience to interpret rather than simply receive. For newcomers to the show, this approach might feel a little confusing at times, but for me it was exhilarating. It felt intelligent, trusting the audience to piece together the threads for themselves.
Visually and technically, the production is equally impressive. Jon Clark’s lighting is stark and expressive, shaping scenes with atmosphere and tension. Fabian Aloise’s choreography is muscular, dynamic, and precise. The ensemble moves like a single organism, their synchronicity so tight it’s genuinely breathtaking. Every gesture feels purposeful, from the smallest flick of a wrist to the explosive full-company numbers. The ensemble themselves are powerhouse performers, bringing passion and intensity to every scene. Their strength and unity echo the fervour of Eva’s Argentina, adding another layer of urgency to the storytelling.
Equally vital is Adam Fisher’s sound design, which balances the soaring vocals and Lloyd Webber’s powerful score beautifully. In a theatre as grand as the Palladium, clarity can sometimes be an issue, but here every lyric, every guitar riff, every heartbeat of percussion landed perfectly.
For those unfamiliar with Evita, the show traces the life of Eva Perón, Argentina’s First Lady from 1946 until her death in 1952. Born into poverty, Eva clawed her way into the limelight, first as an actress and then as wife of President Juan Perón, becoming a powerful, controversial figure adored by the working classes and reviled by the elite. Lloyd Webber and Rice’s score examines her legacy with both admiration and critique, embodied in the narrator Che’s cynical commentary. It’s part biography, part cautionary tale, part celebration and in Lloyd’s hands, it feels fiercely relevant once again.
This Evita is not just a revival; it’s a reinvention. Jamie Lloyd has stripped away the excess and laid bare the story, allowing the music, the cast, and the raw energy of the ensemble to speak for themselves. The result is electrifying- a production that feels both timeless and urgently modern.
Walking out of the Palladium, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I had just witnessed a career-defining moment for Rachel Zegler and a bold new chapter for Evita. It is an intelligent, gripping, and emotional triumph. Simply put, this is theatre at its most alive.

Bat Out Of Hell 2025 Review: Killer Score, But What Happened to the Set?

Bat Out Of Hell has never pretended to be a subtle piece of theatre. It’s loud, it’s chaotic, it’s over-the-top, and when it leans into those extremes, it can be glorious. The 2025 tour keeps the heart-pounding spirit of Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman’s bombastic score alive and well. But while the music remains the show’s undisputed heart, this scaled-back tour suffers from a lack of cohesion in its storytelling and staging, and some puzzling creative decisions that dull the production’s edge rather than sharpen it.
Gone are many of the more lavish set pieces from earlier versions. Raven’s once-gothic bedroom is now reduced to a few scattered boxes, and in one unintentionally comic moment, poor Falco is left wheeling on a crate in place of a sofa. It’s a stripped-back aesthetic that might work in a musical with a stronger plot to fall back on, but Bat has never been about narrative clarity. With this reduction, the production’s structural weaknesses are exposed: transitions between scenes are clunky, and what little dialogue remains often feels amateurish and stilted. Without the visual grandeur of past runs to distract us, the cracks are harder to ignore.
Perhaps the most jarring change is the prominent use of handheld microphones. While they work in conjunction with in-ear monitors to create a stunningly well-mixed sound—easily one of the best elements of the show—they’re stylistically out of place. It's never made clear why they’re being used within the world of the show, and watching characters like Tink wave them around during emotional scenes only pulls the audience further out of the moment. They add a layer of disconnect, making it feel more like a concert with awkward scene breaks than a piece of music theatre. In combining the previous tour and the International arena tour, the show has become a weird mish-mash that doesn't quite work.
That said, the score remains killer. Steinman’s songs are packed with drama, emotion, and sheer rock-and-roll punch. Even though they rarely serve the plot in a traditional sense, each number stands on its own as a mini-epic. And the cast? They do not disappoint. Every vocal was delivered with power, control, and intent. The arrangements remain mostly true to form but benefit from the show’s stripped-back nature- revealing gorgeous musical moments that previously got buried in the chaos. A standout example is the delicate piano work in 'What Part of My Body Hurts the Most,' which offered a rare, emotionally resonant pause in an otherwise thunderous night.
Brilliant performances came from Katie Tonkinson as Raven, bringing vulnerability and defiance in equal measure; Harriet Richardson-Cockerline as Sloane, who balanced brittle humour with aching depth; Rob Fowler as Falco, whose vocals were consistently commanding; and Ryan Carter as Jagwire, whose tone and presence added welcome gravitas and provided many of the stand out moments. The undeniable star of this performance was Luke Street as Strat, who fully embodied the anarchic, eternal-teen spirit of the role. His vocals were ironclad, but even more impressively, every movement and line felt fully intentional. Street didn’t just sing the score- he lived it.
There’s still plenty of enjoyment to be found here, especially for fans of the music. If you're coming for the songs, and many are, you’ll probably leave satisfied. But this tour’s theatrical elements feel underdeveloped and inconsistent, giving off the sense of a rock opera that’s lost some of its bite. The bones of the show are still there, but without a coherent structure or compelling visuals to support them, Bat Out Of Hell in its current iteration feels more like a fever dream than a fiery fantasy.

Mike Leigh’s Acclaimed The Pirates of Penzance Returns to English National Opera This Winter
Set sail for an evening of swashbuckling humour, iconic songs, and sharp satire as the English National Opera (ENO) revives Mike Leigh’s The Pirates of Penzance at the London Coliseum, running from December 2nd, 2024, to February 21st, 2025. First directed by Leigh in 2015 to great acclaim, this production brings Gilbert & Sullivan’s beloved comic opera back to the stage for a second revival, guided by Revival Director Sarah Tipple and featuring the ENO Orchestra under the baton of Natalie Murray Beale, a conductor making her highly anticipated ENO debut.
With 15 scheduled performances, this production tells the charmingly absurd story of Frederic, a young pirate apprentice torn between his duty to his pirate crew and his love for Mabel, the daughter of Major-General Stanley. Audiences can look forward to iconic numbers like 'I am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General' and 'I am a Pirate King'. delivered by an exceptional cast of G&S veterans and ENO regulars.
Richard Suart reprises his celebrated role as Major-General Stanley, joined by John Savournin as The Pirate King, bringing his G&S expertise from recent ENO productions Iolanthe and H.M.S. Pinafore. Tenor William Morgan makes his debut as Frederic, and Classic FM “30 Under 30 Rising Star” Isabelle Peters will play Mabel, following her appearance in ENO’s Jenufa in 2024. Rounding out the principal cast are James Creswell as Sergeant of Police, Bethan Langford as Edith, and Gaynor Keeble as Ruth.
Mike Leigh’s production, known for its vibrant direction and humour, is brought to life with design by Alison Chitty, lighting by Ian Jackson-French, and choreography by Francesca Jaynes. A relaxed performance will take place on Thursday, January 30, at 13:00, and a signed performance on Saturday, February 8, at 14:30.

The Impossible Man Musical Honouring Houdini to Debut with Exclusive Previews on Lake Como in Spring 2025

This limited season debut kicks off on September 21st, 2025, and promises a nostalgic, magical experience for fans and newcomers alike. Based on the 2004 hit starring Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo, 13 Going on 30- The Musical is written by the original film’s writers, Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa, and directed by award-winning Andy Fickman (Heathers, She’s The Man). Goldsmith and Yuspa have crafted a fresh adaptation for the stage, working alongside songwriters Michael Weiner and Alan Zachary (First Date, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) to give Jenna Rink’s story a new dimension.

Fans across the UK now have extra chances to experience the powerful story of Dear Evan Hansen as ATG Productions announces an extended four-week run due to popular demand. This award-winning musical- celebrated with Olivier, Tony, and Grammy wins- will reach additional cities with new dates, bringing this moving production to even more audiences. The tour, directed by Nottingham Playhouse's Artistic Director Adam Penford, premiered at the Nottingham Playhouse in September 2024 and has captivated audiences nationwide with its emotional depth and impactful story.
Dear Evan Hansen tells the story of Evan, a socially anxious high schooler whose desire to fit in leads him down a path of tangled truths and unexpected consequences. Ryan Kopel (Newsies) stars as Evan, delivering a nuanced performance alongside Lauren Conroy (Into the Woods) as Zoe Murphy and Alice Fearn (Wicked, Come From Away) as Heidi Hansen, Evan’s mother.
