Mischief Theatre
’s much-loved comedy The Play That Goes Wrong shows no sign of stopping, as the Olivier and Tony Award-winning hit has extended its run at London’s Duchess Theatre until 31 January 2027.

Since opening in 2014, this chaotic and brilliantly funny show has become a West End favourite, delighting audiences with its slapstick humour and impeccable timing. What started as a small production with just a handful of audience members has now become a global phenomenon.

To celebrate Halloween, Mischief has also released new production photos by Matt Crockett featuring a spooky twist, including a mysterious new understudy said to have “funny bones.”

A Relaxed Performance will be held on 8 March 2026, designed for people with autism, learning difficulties, or communication needs. The aim is to provide a welcoming, supportive environment with reduced sound levels and the freedom for audience members to move around or leave as needed.

Alongside the show, Mischief has launched Learn With Mischief- a free educational resource for schools. Through interactive lessons, students can learn the art of physical comedy, improvisation, and ensemble play inspired by the company’s creative process.

It’s clear that this beloved show continues to win hearts. Whether you’re seeing it for the first time or the fiftieth, The Play That Goes Wrong remains a joyful celebration of theatre gone terribly, wonderfully wrong.
