Jo- The Little Women Musical in Concert to Premiere at Theatre Royal Drury Lane
A beloved literary classic is heading to the West End. Jo- The Little Women Musical in Concert will receive its world premiere at London’s historic Theatre Royal Drury Lane, promising a spellbinding evening that celebrates sisterhood, ambition, and the enduring power of storytelling.
Inspired by Louisa May Alcott’s timeless novel Little Women, this semi-staged concert brings Jo March and her family to life through an emotional and beautifully orchestrated new musical score. With music by Dan Redfeld and book and lyrics by Christina Harding and John Gabriel Koladziej, the production is directed and choreographed by JoAnn M. Hunter, whose extensive Broadway credits include Bad Cinderella and School of Rock.
The initial casting announcement has theatre fans buzzing. Grammy nominee Christine Allado (Hamilton) will star as Jo March, joined by two-time Tony Award winner Christine Ebersole (42nd Street) as Aunt March. West End favourite Kelly Mathieson (The Phantom of the Opera) joins as Meg, with Sophie Pollono, Eleanor Grant and Tobias Turley completing the March family ensemble.
The musical follows the release of the critically acclaimed studio album, recorded at Abbey Road Studios and produced by Nigel Wright and Dan Redfeld. Redfeld said:
“Following the amazing response to the album, we’re thrilled to finally bring this magical musical to life in London.”
Theatre Royal Drury Lane, lovingly restored by Andrew Lloyd Webber, provides the perfect home for this new West End concert event. Fans can expect an unforgettable night of soaring vocals, emotional storytelling and a celebration of one of literature’s most cherished heroines.

As the iconic London production of Les Misérables celebrates its 40th Anniversary tonight with a special Gala Performance at the Sondheim Theatre, producer Cameron Mackintosh, in association with Nick Grace Management, has announced exciting new tour dates for Boublil and Schönberg’s Les Misérables- The Arena Concert Spectacular.

Since the world tour opened in Belfast in September 2024, Les Misérables Arena Tour has sold over one million tickets worldwide, captivating audiences across 30 cities and 25 countries. These newly announced performances will mark the culmination of Les Misérables’ 40th Anniversary celebrations, honouring the world’s longest-running musical.
The London production has just entered its 41st year at the Sondheim Theatre, while Les Misérables was last seen on Broadway in 2016. Full casting announcements for the 2026 tour dates will be revealed soon.

The Arena Concert Spectacular, which I put together as a World Tour to celebrate the incredible 40th year of Les Mis continuously running in London, has been a success beyond my wildest dreams, attracting capacity crowds around the world since it opened over a year ago - even in countries where the full stage production has never yet played.The Arena Tour has already sold over a million tickets, and the rapturous reception has been the same for over 300 performances in 30 cities across 25 countries around the globe wherever MIZ ROCKS is playing. Continuing what will have been an almost two-year record-breaking run, I am thrilled to announce that in 2026 we will be bringing home this iconic event to Dublin and Birmingham before it plays two of the World’s most iconic music venues – the Royal Albert Hall in London in June and Radio City Music Hall in New York in July.We haven’t played the Royal Albert Hall since the show’s legendary 10th Anniversary Concert (which has just been remastered and released on vinyl for the first time) and in New York, Les Misérables has not been seen for almost a decade since we closed our third triumphant run on Broadway. Even our return to Dublin, to the 3Arena (formerly the legendary Point), is full of Les Mis resonance as it is the place where our original Irish star, the great Colm Wilkinson, came home to play Jean Valjean – we hope to have another great Irish star to make the upcoming Dublin engagement equally memorable. Lulu and Wayne Brady Lead To Sir, With Love Musical in the West End
Producers have confirmed the complete cast for the West End premiere of To Sir, With Love- A New Musical, based on E.R. Braithwaite’s acclaimed memoir and the beloved 1967 film starring Sidney Poitier.
The story follows teacher Rick Braithwaite, a Cambridge-educated engineer and former RAF pilot, as he navigates the challenges of race, respect, and resilience in an underprivileged London school.
Making her triumphant return to the title song that made her an international star, Lulu will play Dale Evans, joined by five-time Emmy Award winner and Grammy nominee Wayne Brady in his West End musical debut as Rick Braithwaite.
The cast also features Jess Folley, George Maguire, Chelsea Halfpenny, Kara Lane, Michael Vinsen, and newcomer Elijah Millar, alongside a talented youth company from Italia Conti.
Directed by Sheldon Epps, the production features a score by John Farrar and Kara DioGuardi, choreography by Edgar Godineaux, and orchestrations by Joseph Joubert.
To Sir, With Love will play two concert performances at the Gillian Lynne Theatre on 24 November 2025.

Rachel Zegler London Palladium Review: A Luminous 5-Star Concert

I honestly don’t even know where to begin with this review because yesterday’s concert at the London Palladium was nothing short of magical. If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know that my love for Rachel Zegler goes way back, right to 2017, when I stumbled across her cover of Anyway by Kerrigan and Lowdermilk. (I even featured her in a website post at the time.) Since then, I’ve been following her outrageously amazing career from YouTube videos in her bedroom to, well… global stardom. It’s somewhat depressing how little I’ve achieved in that same time while Rachel has basically achieved world domination… but hey, we won’t harp on that hahaha.
What I will harp on about is how utterly luminous she was on that Palladium stage during her debut solo concert. And luminous really is the word.
We all knew Rachel’s voice was spectacular; her run in Evita was proof enough of that (I’m still mourning the show's closing). But this concert felt like a complete vocal masterclass. Her tone is crystal clear, her breath control flawless, and the strength and health of her voice is something to marvel at. Every note rang out like it was the easiest thing in the world, yet full of emotion and nuance. Rachel’s voice doesn’t just sound beautiful, it feels like it’s telling you a story, every single time.
The setlist was an absolute dream. We got theatrical classics like Jason Robert Brown’s I Can Do Better Than That, a stunning duet from Sunday in the Park with George with none other than Ramin Karimloo (Phantom fans rise up), and a heartfelt tribute to her Taylor Swift YouTube cover days with You’re On Your Own, Kid.
She also gifted us with a gorgeous Amy Winehouse/Ariana Grande mashup (Just Friends/we can’t be friends) which was an inspired blend of styles. On top of all that, she introduced two original songs, both of which were glorious, beautifully written, and made it so clear that Rachel isn’t just an interpreter of music, she’s a creator too.
I truly loved all the choices, with tributes to key parts of Rachel’s career and life so far. There were nods to The Hunger Games, to her being a literal Disney princess, to her Broadway debut in Romeo and Juliet, and to the musical theatre legends who have shaped her artistry. It was like watching her personal and professional journey unfold in song. A reminder of just how much she’s done, and how much she loves what she does.
As dazzling as her voice is, what made this concert unforgettable was Rachel herself. Her banter, her humour and her vulnerability; she was so open, joyful, and clearly utterly in love with theatre and music. As long as I've followed and chatted to Rachel, she has always been so incredibly kind and giving, and that same spirit filled the Palladium. You didn’t just see a star performing; you saw a human being sharing herself with the audience, and it was beautiful.
Rachel joked at one point that Javert is a role she’d never get to play but honestly, having watched how she’s manifested the rest of her career, I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if it happens someday. She’s unstoppable.
This concert was a testament to everything Rachel Zegler is: luminous, powerful, generous, and truly unique. She is a once-in-a-generation talent, and I have no doubt she will continue to soar and shine (hopefully back on a West End stage in the not too distant future). Until then, I’ll keep cheering her on, as I always have, from that first Anyway cover in 2017 to now. Here's to continued Rachel Zegler world domination!

Sabrina Carpenter at BST Hyde Park Night Two: Pure Pop Joy and Five-Star Fun

Sometimes a concert doesn’t just entertain you, it transports you. That’s exactly how it felt watching Sabrina Carpenter at BST Hyde Park (night two). In the best possible way, I was thrown back to a Year 6 disco: glittering pop anthems, dancing with friends, and that carefree joy of singing along at the top of your lungs. It was nostalgic, youthful, and utterly irresistible.; especially after a characteristic British summer thunderstorm tried to thwart and dampen the day!
Sabrina Carpenter has blossomed into a world-class entertainer, and this show proved it beyond doubt. Her vocals were pitch-perfect, her stage presence magnetic, and her ability to connect with the crowd effortless. She knows how to make a massive outdoor stage feel intimate, talking to fans with warmth and humour between songs, before flipping seamlessly back into high-energy performance mode.
The production itself deserves a shoutout. Beyond the slick staging, lights, and choreography, the clever skit videos threaded throughout the night gave the concert a unique theatrical flair. They were playful, funny, and made the whole experience feel more immersive, almost like we were stepping into Sabrina’s glittering pop universe.
What struck me most, though, was the vibe of the whole evening. Hyde Park was buzzing with positive energy, with fans of all ages singing along to songs like "Espresso" and "Feather". There was a real sense of community joy, the kind that only happens when thousands of people come together to share in music that makes them feel good.
By the end of the night, it was clear why Sabrina Carpenter has quickly risen to become one of pop’s most exciting stars. She delivered a show that was polished, heartfelt, and brimming with personality. A five-foot-five-star performance!

On a festival bill filled with big production and spectacle, Finneas at BST Hyde Park stood out for his quiet confidence and stripped-back artistry. His set was a reminder that sometimes all you need is a guitar, a piano, and a voice to hold a massive crowd in the palm of your hand.
The setlist was a thoughtful mix of songs from his solo work and tracks he’s best known for co-writing. Highlights included "For Cryin' Out Loud" and "The Kids Are All Dying", which showcased his sharp, reflective lyricism, and "Break My Heart Again", performed with aching vulnerability. He also sprinkled in fan favourites like "Till Forever Falls Apart" and "I Lost a Friend", each delivered with a natural ease that made it feel like we were watching a friend play songs for us in his living room, albeit on one of the biggest stages in London.
One of the evening’s most special moments came when Ashe joined him on stage to debut their brand-new collaboration The Favours. The chemistry between the two was effortless, and the crowd knew instantly they were witnessing something unique. It was the kind of surprise that turns a good set into a truly memorable one.
What makes Finneas so compelling as a performer is how relaxed and natural he is on stage. He doesn’t try to overwhelm with spectacle; instead, he wins you over with warmth, wit, and honesty. His vocals were rich and expressive, while his musicianship, moving seamlessly between guitar and piano, gave the set a layered texture without ever feeling overproduced.
In a festival setting where bigger often feels better, Finneas proved that intimacy can be just as powerful. His Hyde Park performance was understated brilliance, a reminder of why he’s not just a Grammy-winning producer and Billie Eilish’s collaborator, but a formidable artist in his own right.

There are some concerts that feel bigger than music- they feel like a gathering of hearts. Noah Kahan at BST Hyde Park was one of those nights. From the moment he stepped on stage, guitar in hand, to the final singalong under the London sky, it was less of a gig and more of a shared celebration.
Performing outdoors suited Noah Kahan’s earthy music perfectly. His blend of heartfelt storytelling, folk-infused melodies, and soaring choruses carried beautifully across the park. Songs like "Stick Season" and "Dial Drunk" weren’t just performed, they were felt, sung back by thousands of voices in a wave of communal energy. There was a palpable sense of connection, as though everyone present had lived through the same heartbreaks and joys woven into his lyrics. His vocals were nothing short of remarkable- clear, emotive, and strong enough to fill the huge outdoor space without losing intimacy. I've seen Noah live performing this album several times now and every one has felt new and powerful.
The evening was full of surprises, none more special than the appearance of Lewis Capaldi as a guest. The roar of the crowd when he walked on stage was deafening, and the chemistry between him and Kahan was genuine and joyful. It was a reminder of the power of music to bring artists and audiences together in unforgettable moments.
The support acts added even more magic to the night. Finneas set the tone with his thoughtful, polished set, joined by Ashe to debut their brand-new collaboration The Favors. It felt like being part of a moment of music history, hearing a song live for the very first time. Gracie Abrams followed with her signature mix of tender vulnerability and lyrical honesty, winning over the crowd with ease. By the time Noah Kahan walked on, the atmosphere was already charged with warmth and anticipation.
What stood out most was the sense of community. People weren’t just watching; they were connecting. Strangers danced together, whole sections of the park swayed in unison, and voices blended on choruses like an impromptu choir. There was a joy and openness that made Hyde Park feel smaller, more intimate, despite the scale of the event.
The staging and sound were excellent too. The production kept things simple, letting Noah’s music take centre stage, while the big screens ensured even those at the very back felt part of the action. As the sun set and the stage lights came to life, it all came together to create a truly magical atmosphere.
In the end, this was a reminder of why live music matters. Noah Kahan at BST Hyde Park was uplifting, emotional, and filled with moments that will stay with the audience. With his heartfelt songs, powerful voice, and the gift of making a massive park feel like a fireside gathering, Noah proved he’s not just one of the most exciting artists of his generation, he’s one of the most unifying too.

On a golden summer evening in London, Zach Bryan delivered an absolutely unforgettable performance at BST Hyde Park 2025, one that was hugely enjoyed by fans and newcomers like myself. From the moment he walked onto the Great Oak Stage, a raw electricity charged the air, setting the tone for a night that was as emotionally powerful as it was musically flawless.
The atmosphere was nothing short of magical. Thousands gathered under the open sky, swaying beneath the trees, wrapped in the warm glow of twilight and anticipation. As the first notes of Open the Gate rang out, the crowd erupted, and a sense of shared connection filled the park , something only few artists can truly conjure.
His voice -gritty, soulful, and hauntingly honest- cut through the London evening with a depth that felt both intimate and vast. Tracks like Something in the Orange and Burn, Burn, Burn sent shivers through the audience, while newer songs like Pink Skies were met with awed silence and then thunderous applause. Every lyric hit home, every note felt lived-in and true.
Just when the night seemed it couldn’t get any better, Dermot Kennedy, who had already captivated the crowd as a stellar support act with his powerhouse vocals and heartfelt delivery, returned to the stage. The two joined forces for a surprise duet of Hey Driver, and the result was pure magic, two voices, distinct yet perfectly matched, soaring into the London night.
From the cheers and singing to the quiet moments when you could hear a pin drop, Zach Bryan's BST Hyde Park set was a masterclass in live music. An emotional rollercoaster of poetic storytelling and unfiltered Americana. It wasn’t just a concert; it was a communal experience of joy, nostalgia, and catharsis.
This show proved that Zach Bryan is a generational voice in country music, and Hyde Park was lucky to bear witness.

Review: Olivia Rodrigo at BST Hyde Park review: A True Pop Star

Seeing Olivia Rodrigo headline BST Hyde Park was a full-circle moment for me. I first saw her at the Hammersmith Apollo during the Sour tour when she was a young star with undeniable talent, still finding her footing as a live performer. Then I caught her again at the O2 on the GUTS tour, where she proved she could own a massive arena with confidence and charisma. But this Hyde Park show? This was the glow-up fully realised.
Performing outdoors in front of tens of thousands, Olivia was nothing short of phenomenal. Her vocals (which we all know are strong on record) soared in the open air, raw and powerful yet full of nuance. She didn’t have backing dancers this time, which meant the spotlight was squarely on her voice and stage presence. And she delivered in spades. From the venomous bite of "Vampire" to the cathartic scream-alongs of "Good 4 U", every song landed as if it were a greatest hit, which, at this point, most of them are.
Hearing some of the GUTS Spilled deep cuts like "So American" in this setting was particularly special. Plus, tracks like "Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl" and "All-American Bitch" carried a wild, anthemic energy under the summer sky, while "Traitor" and "Drivers License" offered quiet, spine-tingling moments of vulnerability.
A surprise appearance from Ed Sheeran added an extra layer of magic, the kind of left-field collaboration that festivals like BST thrive on. It was joyous, unexpected, and gave the night a unique stamp that no other show could replicate.
What struck me most was how Olivia has grown not just as a singer, but as a storyteller and performer. She commands the stage with ease, speaking to the crowd like old friends, then pouring every ounce of herself into each lyric. She’s funny, emotional, fierce, and unafraid. A true pop star for this generation.
Leaving Hyde Park, it was impossible not to feel excited for what’s next. Olivia Rodrigo is no longer just a breakout artist, she’s one of the defining voices of her time. I can’t wait for her next album, her next tour, and the next chapter in a career that’s already shaping up to be iconic.

Cast Announced for Stiles + Drewe’s Best New Song Prize Concert 2024: A Star-Studded Celebration of New Musical Theatre Talent
Prepare for an unforgettable night of new musical theatre as Mercury Musical Developments and Stiles + Drewe, in partnership with Broadway Licensing Global, present the 2024 Best New Song Prize Concert. Hosted by Olivier Award-winning actor Jenna Russell, this one-night-only gala will take place at The Other Palace on Monday, December 2 at 7:30 pm, showcasing the incredible talent of both emerging and established musical theatre creators.
This unique concert features a glittering cast, including stage icons like Charlie McCullagh (42 Balloons, Jesus Christ Superstar), Desmonda Cathabel (Aladdin, Miss Saigon), Lauryn Redding (Standing at the Sky’s Edge), Natalie Paris (Pretty Woman, SIX), Obioma Ugoala (Frozen, Hamilton), Samuel Barnett (Rock Follies), and Tim Howar (Rock of Ages, The Phantom of the Opera). Star-Studded Gala A Marvellous Party Celebrates Noël Coward with a Glittering Lineup
London’s Prince of Wales Theatre is set to shine on Sunday, 17th November 2024, as an all-star lineup gathers for A Marvellous Party, a special charity gala honouring the legacy of Noël Coward. The celebration will feature a dazzling array of talent, including Alfred Enoch, Derek Jacobi, Ian McKellen, Joshua James, Samantha Spiro, Marisha Wallace, and Lia Williams, joining previously announced stars Hugh Bonneville, Gyles Brandreth, Judi Dench, Lindsay Duncan, Cush Jumbo, Robert Lindsay, Hilton McRae, and Giles Terera. Additional surprise guests will also appear, making it a memorable evening in celebration of Coward’s life and work.
This gala evening, directed by Daniel Evans with musical direction by Tom Brady, will present an array of excerpts from Coward’s plays, songs, and sketches- some of which will be performed publicly for the first time. Youth participants from Chichester Festival Youth Theatre, New Adventures, and Wise Children Theatre School will join Noël Coward Foundation bursary recipients, as well as a troupe of actors renowned for performing Coward’s works, for an evening rich in British theatrical tradition and talent.
A Marvellous Party is also the grand finale of the two-year Coward 125 celebration, which has honoured Noël Coward’s extraordinary impact on theatre. Proceeds from the evening will support The Queen’s Reading Room, the Noël Coward Foundation, and Acting For Others, with the Prince of Wales Theatre generously provided by Sir Cameron Mackintosh for the occasion.

Joe Stilgoe, a well-established pianist and composer, commanded the stage with his intricate piano arrangements and playful charm. While some references may have been lost on a younger audience, there’s no denying the powerful effect the songs had on those familiar with the material. Plus, there were a selection of Joe's compositions showcased, which were truly wonderful.
The real magic of the evening lay in the way Pulman and Stilgoe interacted musically. Their on-stage chemistry was palpable, each responding effortlessly to the other’s cues. The fluidity of their collaboration made the performance feel intimate and spontaneous, giving the impression that they were performing just for you. Their musicality was nothing short of glowing- Pulman’s emotive phrasing paired with Stilgoe’s delicate touch on the piano created moments of pure, soulful harmony.
Standout songs included renditions of 'Don't Rain on My Parade' and a stunning medley of 'People Will Say We're in Love/If I Loved You', both delivered with an emotional depth that resonated with the entire audience. While I may not have connected with every musical reference, I left with an immense appreciation for the artistry displayed. It’s a rare thing to witness two performers so in sync, making this a truly memorable evening, and a masterclass in musicality.

Les Misérables, Billy Elliot and others to be Released in Cinemas for Anniversary Celebrations
Get ready for a cinematic treat! Six filmed stage productions are set to grace cinema screens over the next six months, offering theatre fans a unique chance to experience some of the most celebrated performances from the comfort of their local theatres. Produced by CinemaLive, these screenings will mark significant milestones for each production.
Kicking off the series, Miss Saigon, filmed during its 25th anniversary gala performance at the Prince Edward Theatre in 2016, is currently being shown in cinemas. Following that, the beloved classic The Phantom of the Opera, which celebrated its own 25th anniversary at the Royal Albert Hall in 2011, will screen on November 3 and 5. This production stars Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess, showcasing their incredible talents in a visually stunning performance.
Next up, the award-winning Girl From the North Country, written by Conor McPherson and featuring 20 songs by the legendary Bob Dylan, will be screened on November 21 and 24. This version was recorded at the Belasco Theatre in New York in 2022, bringing its emotional storytelling and poignant music to a broader audience.
Looking ahead to 2025, theatre-goers can look forward to Les Misérables- The Staged Concert, filmed in 2019 at the Gielgud Theatre. This production features a star-studded cast, including Michael Ball, Alfie Boe, Carrie Hope Fletcher, and Matt Lucas. It will be available to view in cinemas starting February 2, 2025.
Shortly after, the arena tour version of Jesus Christ Superstar, featuring an all-star cast that includes Tim Minchin, Mel C, Ben Forster, and Chris Moyles, will be screened across the UK from March 1, 2025. This performance promises to bring a fresh and dynamic interpretation of the rock opera to fans.
Finally, to celebrate its 20th anniversary, a re-release of Billy Elliot will hit cinemas, coinciding with the original West End premiere in 2005. Directed by Stephen Daldry, this production was captured live at the Victoria Palace Theatre in 2014 and will be available starting March 30, 2025.

West End Does: Christmas in Oz Casting Announced
West End Does: Christmas is returning this December, and this year, it’s bringing a delightful Oz-themed twist to the festivities. The concert will blend holiday classics with beloved songs from The Wizard of Oz and Wicked, just as the film adaptation of Wicked prepares to grace UK cinemas a few days before the event, making for perfect timing.
The concerts will feature two choirs and a full West End orchestra, all under the direction of musical maestro Samuel Wilson. This year’s impressive lineup includes notable musical theatre stars, particularly alumni from Wicked: Louise Dearman, Sophie Evans, Alice Fearn, Oliver Tompsett, Liam Tamne, and Claudia Kariuki, who have all played key roles in the production.
Hosting the event will be Rob Houchen and Matt Lucas, both known for their work in Les Misérables, promising an evening filled with festive cheer and theatrical magic.

I’d heard incredible things and knew it would be good, but I wasn’t quite prepared for just how extraordinary it would be. As the confetti rained down and the final notes of 'Karma' rang out, I realised I’d just experienced something life-changing- an event that will stay with me forever. Over the course of three and a half hours, Taylor Swift delivered a performance that was nothing short of mesmerising, uniting a crowd of 92,000 people through her sheer talent and undeniable magnetism.
The Eras Tour, featuring over 50 songs, is a testament to Taylor’s remarkable journey, spanning her early country roots to her chart-topping pop hits and beyond. The scale of her fame is truly unparalleled, yet she carries it with effortless grace, infusing her performance with joy, playfulness, and an infectious energy that makes the entire experience feel both intimate and monumental.
Everything about The Eras Tour is big and bold. Every detail, from the intricately designed sets- such as a Folklore-inspired house and giant floating clouds- to the impeccable lighting, was executed to perfection. The visuals were stunning, creating a dynamic and immersive atmosphere that felt like a cinematic masterpiece come to life. It’s difficult to convey the impact of certain moments, but it’s truly a heart-pounding, adrenaline-fuelled experience from start to finish.
What truly stood out was the sense of community that permeated the entire event. In a world where division and isolation often dominate, this show reminded us of the power of music to bring people together. The Eras Tour wasn’t just a concert; it was a celebration of fandom. The collective energy of the audience, singing along to every word, dancing, and sharing in the moment, was a powerful reminder of music's unifying force. If you could bottle up and share the joy that a Taylor Swift concert creates, the world would be a much brighter place.
Taylor herself is unlike anyone I’ve ever seen before. Her presence on stage is magnetic and powerful, yet she brings touches of her characteristic goofiness and fun, with quirky little movements and facial expressions that make her feel relatable and endearing. Seeing her give so much on stage was inspiring, and I am more in awe than ever after witnessing her not miss a beat.

This show proved why Taylor Swift is the word on everyone’s lips right now: She is the music industry. She’s a cultural phenomenon. She's the moment, and every moment that’s coming. Unforgettable Moments at BST Hyde Park: Stevie Nicks and Harry Styles Live

To put it lightly, last night at BST Hyde Park was nothing short of magical. Like many, seeing Stevie Nicks perform was a bucket list event for me, so finally getting to see her was a dream come true and the night was a true testament to the enduring power and charisma of the legendary performer. The atmosphere was electric, filled with a sense of history and excitement that only intensified as the evening progressed. The fully female lineup for the day added an extra layer of significance and empowerment to the event which will go down in the memory of so many.
The day kicked off for me with the vibrant Catty on the Rainbow Stage. Her energy was infectious, and her vocals were stunningly strong. Each note she sang was filled with emotion, showcasing her undeniable talent. It's clear that this is just the beginning of an incredible career for her. I feel lucky to have witnessed her early steps and can't wait to see where she goes next.
Nina Nesbitt followed with a lovely set that provided a beautiful contrast to some of the other artists. Her performance showcased her as a talented singer-songwriter with a unique voice. Her heartfelt lyrics and soothing melodies were a delight to watch, and her songs added a perfect touch to the day's lineup.
As a longtime fan of Brandi Carlile, seeing her on the Great Oak Stage was another dream come true. I have to admit, I shed a tear. Her performance was nothing short of astounding, making her the perfect opener for Stevie. Hearing 'The Joke' and 'The Story' live was everything I hoped for and more. Her raspy, powerful vocals and brilliant audience interaction were captivating. Closing her set with 'We Are the Champions' in honour of the upcoming Euros final was a wonderful choice that had the audience fully on her side. From what I could hear around me, Brandi gained a lot of new fans through her performance!
And then, the moment we had all been waiting for: Stevie Nicks. From the moment she stepped on stage, the crowd was enraptured. Surrounded by fans united by their love for Stevie, there was an overwhelming sense of community and shared joy. Many, myself included, had made the effort to emulate Stevie's iconic style, with flowing shawls and layered jewellry. The lady next to me even had a ribbon-laden tambourine, a tribute to Stevie's signature accessory. As Stevie took the stage, the crowd was filled with sniffles and tears, a testament to the profound impact she has had on all of us. This was more than just a concert; it was a momentous event that celebrated the enduring magic of Stevie Nicks. The joy of music and the connection we all felt to her and to each other made it a night to remember, filled with heartfelt emotion and a sense of belonging.
Her setlist was a perfect mix of classics and deeper cuts, taking us on a journey through her incredible career. Starting with 'Outside the Rain', she immediately set the tone for an unforgettable night. 'Dreams' and 'If Anyone Falls' followed, showcasing her timeless voice that remains as strong and evocative as ever.
'Gypsy' and 'The Edge of Seventeen' were delivered with the kind of passion that only Stevie can bring. As she performed 'Bella Donna' and 'Gold Dust Woman,' the graphics on the screen behind her added a hypnotic visual element to the show, perfectly complementing the music and enhancing the overall experience.
Stevie's anecdotes between songs were like little gifts to the audience. Her Joan Didion-esque meandering Hollywood stories were fascinating; I could have listened to her regale us for hours. The way she spoke about her various shawls was delightful, adding a charming personal touch to the performance. It was evident she was thoroughly enjoying playing Hyde Park, and her joy was contagious.
A special highlight was when her vocal coach, Steve Real joined her for a song. It added an intimate and unique touch to the performance, showcasing Stevie's generosity and appreciation for her team. As she moved into 'Rhiannon,' the crowd sang along, united in their love for the music and the moment.
The night reached an unforgettable climax when Harry Styles joined Stevie on stage for the final two songs. As a huge Harry fan, I'd heard rumours he might be there, but nothing could prepare me for the sheer emotion of the moment when he appeared to sing 'Stop Draggin' My Heart Around.' Seeing him perform with Stevie on what would have been Christine McVie's 81st birthday was surreal; their rendition of 'Landslide,' accompanied by a beautiful slideshow of photos, was moving beyond words.
This concert was everything you could ask for and more. Stevie's voice is still incredibly strong, and her stage presence is unmatched. The graphics and visuals throughout the show were stunning, adding an extra layer of magic to the performance. I'm honoured to have witnessed such an icon perform in such an iconic setting. The memories of this night, especially that magical moment with Harry Styles, will stay with me forever. If you ever get the chance to see Stevie Nicks live, don't hesitate. It's an experience you'll treasure for a lifetime.

Concert Review: Shania Twain Wows Hyde Park with Iconic Hits and Audience Sing-Alongs

Closing out the second weekend of BST, Shania Twain looked unreal as she brought excellent, boot-stomping vibes and created an evening that was an absolute blast! Despite battling a cold, Shania still managed to put on a show that had everyone living their best lives. In perhaps an attempt to save her voice, Shania often encouraged the audience to take control so we really put our school assembly singing skills to good use whenever she passed the mic to the audience. It was like a giant, joyous karaoke session under the evening sky.
The fun graphics and visuals were another highlight, becoming even more effective as the sun set. It was the perfect backdrop for Shania's performance, creating a magical atmosphere that added to the excitement. Between songs, she chatted with the audience, sharing stories and warming herself to everyone. It felt like we were all just hanging out with an old friend. I really enjoyed her clever segues into each song, and she took moments to look out at the crowd and soak it all in which was lovely to witness.
Shania’s setlist was packed with hits. She kicked off with 'Don't Be Stupid (You Know I Love You)' which was perhaps not the best opener as a lot of the audience didn't seem familiar with it but things soon stepped up and over 17 songs, there was definitely something for everyone. Her performance of 'That Don’t Impress Me Much' was a nostalgic trip that had everyone singing at the top of their lungs and of course the iconic 'Man! I Feel Like a Woman!' was a true stand out moment. Despite her cold, Shania’s energy was infectious, and she gave a performance that seemed to enchant the audience, whether it was their first time seeing her, of whether they'd caught her before during her illustrious career. 'You're Still the One' had the entire park swaying, and 'Waking Up Dreaming' was a touching highlight that showcased her still-strong vocals. Donning her cowboy hat, Hyde Park embodied the spirit of country with renditions of 'Giddy Up' and 'Who's Bed Have Your Boots Been Under', with boot-scooting and toe tapping galore. Shania told us how she really feels that were in a country music renaissance and after this performance and Morgan Wallen earlier in the week, I certainly agree!
One of the most endearing parts of the night was how Shania interacted with us. She spoke candidly between songs, sharing personal anecdotes and making the massive 50,000 person strong crowd feel like an intimate gathering. Her warmth and charisma shone through, making her performance feel genuine and heartfelt.
Before Shania took the stage, I had the pleasure of catching Nell Mescal on the Rainbow Stage. Nell was simply wonderful, delivering a selection of her own music, including some beautiful pieces from her recent EP. Her stage presence was warm and charming, and her vocals were pin sharp! They mixed delicate emotion with a powerful belt that left me eagerly anticipating her rise to stardom. She’s definitely one to watch.
Later in the day, Anne Marie and The Corrs opened on the main Great Oak Stage, and they did not disappoint. Anne Marie, with her string of bangers, got everyone hyped up with her infectious pop vibes. The Corrs brought a different style, full of emotional depth and musical brilliance. Their set was particularly moving; you could see how astounded they were by the audience’s reaction. It was a lovely, memorable moment that added a special touch to the day.
All in all, Hyde Park was alive with incredible music and unforgettable performances. Shania truly shone and made sure we all had the time of our lives. Her show was a testament to her enduring talent and connection with her fans. I was impressed much!
